Many thanks for clarifying this topic of ends justifying the means.

As an aside, Moshe Rabainu made a promise and there where consequences as a result. In my work I often uncover “promises” people made to themselves without even knowing about it and the great impact this has on their lives later on. (Just a thought)

You wrote “ Even the devil, can cite Scripture for his purpose”.
I think even thought the general idea in this thought might be true, we never knowthe deeper meanings of Moshe Rabbeinu and it is disrespectful to compare Moshe to the devil.
