"A Different Kind of Rosh Hashanah!" - Comments

1 David Kunkel on 2008 04 04

This relates marvelously to a drosh on Purim I heard recently on a tape by Rabbi Gottleib. Purim is compared to Yom Kippur (Yom kipurim = “a day like purim") because as we sanctify our soul and mind to G-d during Yom Kippur, we sanctify our body to G-d during Purim through celebration, food and wine. It seems fitting that this would occur during this season when the whole world is reawakening its physical beauty and vigor.
Thank you for a lovely explanation!

I was a little surprised that there was no mention of the anniversary of the dedication of the newly completed Mishkan, which I’ve read occured on the first of Nisan.

At a time of physical rebirth/beginning we had a tremendous spiritual begining and may we This Nisan dedicate the 3rd Beis Hamikdash!
